Swalecliffe Residents Association Meeting - June 2008

People Present;

 

·         Around 18 members of the public

Matters Arising from the Last Meeting

 

Play Park Light
  • Attracts  Mischief – Goes off at 10
  • A trial of having it switched off has been suggested
  • Official Response is to phone in the incident to make an officer aware
Grass Cuttings
  • Grass Cutting is very poor
  • It was suggested that people who own houses on the estate to contribute to the fund
Parking
  • Plans have been rejected as of the current moment; also one option was not financially viable.
  • As the land is managed and owned by the council a £90 fee must be paid to the treasury
Seagull Proofing
  • Emmerson Gardens has been seagull proofed
  • Anyone who would like the work done should contact CCC (Canterbury City Council)

Secretaries Report

 

·         SRA has received an award “Local Network Fund Certificate of Merit”. Well Done!

 

Any other business

 

·         Loud music should be reported to Environmental Health at CCC

·         Swalecliffe Brook apparently has a blue haze (possible biohazard). Upon sighting of this report it IMMEDIATELY to environmental health: 0800807060 also if possible please take a photograph, or take a sample. The biohazard has been traced to the Joseph Wilson industrial estate, please click here to view the Environmental Agencies statement.

·         Seats for the village green can be suggested to Canterbury City Council

·         Fundraising idea’s should be put forward to the Swalecliffe Residents Association a Swalecliffe Festival was one of these suggestions

·         20 mph speed limit has been suggested, everyone welcomed the idea.

 

*Meetings are at risk of going down to 2 meetings a year, although the SRA will be keeping 4 meetings a year.
